R.I.G.O.R. Unveiled
Teachers consistently name rigor among the most disliked terms in education. Some will offer that they “know it when they see it,” yet have trouble explaining it in ways that lead to improved rigor and maintaining high expectations in their classrooms. This course explores rigor misconceptions, while reframing the term in tangible ways that support student learning. Following the RIGOR Walk model (Fisher, et al., 2024) and supported by rich and vivid virtual classroom visits, we explore Relationships, Instruction, Goals, Organization, and Relevance to see these rigor components in action.
